Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her create Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. The announcement of her decision to sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. On the 9th of November 2018 she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, The No One or Pedigree. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album of the same title. In February of 2019, the music video for this song was released. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. In December 2018, she performed as performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
